Position Summary Rosie’s Recovery Center is seeking a Substance Abuse Counselor to facilitate groups in our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP). The counselor will help adults build recovery skills through structured, compassionate, trauma-informed treatment. This role includes group facilitation, individual check-ins as assigned, clinical documentation, and coordination with the treatment team. Responsibilities Plan and lead PHP groups on relapse prevention, triggers, coping skills, recovery identity, emotional regulation, healthy relationships, and related treatment goals. Use evidence-informed approaches, including motivational interviewing, psychoeducation, and CBT or DBT skills appropriate to the counselor’s training. Encourage participation while maintaining group boundaries, confidentiality, and a respectful environment. Recognize signs of intoxication, withdrawal, escalating distress, or safety concerns and follow the center’s escalation procedures. Document attendance, group content, each client’s participation and response, and relevant follow-up in the EHR within the center’s required timeframe. Contribute to treatment planning, progress reviews, referrals, and discharge planning as assigned. Coordinate with therapists, psychiatric providers, case managers, and other team members to support continuity of care. Participate in supervision, case consultation, and required training. Qualifications Current Maryland alcohol and drug counseling license, certification, or trainee status appropriate for the assigned duties, such as LCADC, LGADC, CAC-AD, CSC-AD, or ADT. Experience facilitating substance use treatment groups preferred; PHP or IOP experience is a plus. Ability to engage clients with co-occurring mental health and substance use concerns. Strong documentation, communication, and crisis response skills. Ability to meet applicable supervision, credentialing, and program requirements. #J-18808-Ljbffr Rosies Recovery Center
